Dressing up the Groom and the wedding party shouldn't be complicated....

What should I look for when I go shopping for the Groom's formal wear attire? There are a couple of things that should be considered before you get started; one of the questions that you probably have in mind is should I purchase my formal wear or should I just rent it, and how do I know that I am choosing the right formal wear for this special day. We are going to give you a few ideas on how to approach tasks like this.

There are quite a few different attires to choose from, however, if we talk about formal wear attire such as Cutaways, Strollers, White Diner Jackets, White tie and Tails and the classic Tuxedos we should be able to make things less complicated when it comes to deciding on the right outfit. If the wedding ceremony requires you to wear a Tuxedo I would definitely consider the idea of purchasing this garment, after all, most formal events always require you to wear black tie (tuxedos) however, if you need to wear any other formal wear attire you will probably be better off hiring one for the big day.

A good formal wear store, not just a tuxedo store, should be able to help you make the right decisions on how to get the correct formal attire for the Groom and the wedding party. If possible, try to do business with a formal wear store that has the formal attire on the premises; this means that every member in the wedding party will try on the actual garment and not just be fitted with a tape measure, remember, if something goes wrong on the pick up day, this store should be able to fix the problem in no time, (this comes in handy for those measurements that come from out of town). Those other places that have to order your formal attire from a warehouse will not be able to do this for you.

What must I consider before choosing the style of gentlemen's attire my wedding party should wear?

The rule determining the correct formal attire to be worn by the wedding party is based upon two factors:

a)Whether the wedding is FORMAL or SEMI-FORMAL. and
b) The TIME of the ceremony.
.

What determines the formality of the wedding?

The degree of formality is determined solely by the bride's gown. If the gown has a train, the wedding party is FORMAL. Should the bridal dress be street-length or chapel-length, the wedding party is deemed to be SEMI-FORMAL. Contrary to popular belief, the formality of a wedding is not determined by where the wedding takes place nor by the number of guests attending.
